- Initiated a feasibility study of alternatives to bring 5th grade back to Clifford Marshall & Lincoln Hancock, so all 5th graders across the city can learn in an elementary school setting
- Worked to develop the first step of an advanced curriculum program at the early elementary level
- Called for a detailed report of the security cameras & systems in our schools to identify necessary repairs, upgrades, & additional locations (in stairwells, etc.)
- Worked with Mayor Koch on a much-needed increase to the number of computers in our schools
- Updated homework expectations & requirements as a member of the QPS Homework Policy Committee
- Analyzed every angle of each step of returning students and teachers safely back to school on the QPS COVID Re-Entry Task Force
- Worked to bring the Community Preservation Act (CPA) to Quincy, which has funded many projects across the city, including outdoor classrooms & school playground upgrades
- Advocated for updated & expanded health education curriculum for high school students
- Member of the state's Gifted & Talented Advisory Council to DESE, working to increase awareness of and funding for above-the-curve learners in Quincy and across the state
- Led the effort to STOP the proposal to move 4th graders to the new Southwest Middle School
- Improving communication and transparency
- Striving for equity across the school system
- Celebrating the diversity of our QPS community
- Investing in repairs & upgrades to older school buildings
- Streamlining the pathway to receiving special education services
- Providing challenging opportunities for advanced students in early elementary grades
- Ensuring tax dollars are spent on items for the schools that are most needed
- Returning 5th graders to Clifford Marshall & Lincoln Hancock, so that all elementary schools across the city can be a K-5 configuration
